jon.morgan@aricode.uk The first thing we designed at Aricode was our ink and make-up cartridges. We chose this as a starting point because it is perhaps the most common tactile contact point between an ink jet printer and its user and we wanted to get it right first and not leave it to the end and make it an after thought.
The cartridges are ergonomically designed so that they are easy to grip and insert into the cartridge holder. We added “handed” features so that its not possible to insert the cartridge into the wrong holder on the printer, and these features also cut the air supply to the cartridge before the fluid connection is removed to minimise the chance of dripping, giving us a patent in the process.
Right from the start we put the customer experience first with our printer, something we still do today.
